"The Importance of Henrietta Lacks" - Dr. Eva McGhee

Dr. Eva McGhee, donor of a commissioned painting of Henrietta lacks and faculty member of Charles Drew University discusses who Henrietta Lacks is and her vital importance to the field of medicine. Henrietta Lacks' cancer cells were the source of the HeLa cell line, the first immortalized and most important human cell line in medical research. Dr. McGhee will be joined by Dr. Leslie Fields, of St. Luke's Hospital and board member of Black Archives of Mid-America.
