The Missouri Humanities Council (MHC) has awarded a grant of $8,000.00 to the Black Archives of Mid-America (Black Archives) in support of the project, “Re-Visioning the Kansas City Narrative: Teaching African American History in the Central Plains Teacher’s Institute,” June 20-21, 2012. The MHC is the only state-wide agency in Missouri devoted exclusively to humanities education for citizens of all ages. It has served as a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities since 1974.
